My name is Annie Wang, and welcome to my personal photography website!
I have been a passionate photographer and astrophotographer for years, and my camera has been a constant company throughout different stages of my life.
When I first got interested in photography, I would bring my camera everywhere, even on an intense camping trip where we were supposed to "pack light." I mainly used photography as a tool to record, extending the instant with friends and family to eternity.
Later on, I sought not only to capture the moment through photography but the aesthetic and visual component of the image. I would wait on a street for hours to capture the perfectly sized and colored cars passing each other or come to the beach five days in a row to capture the best sunsets.
After watching thousands of videos on the technicality of photography and practicing working with different settings, compositions, lighting, and styles, I began focusing more on storytelling and expressing messages using images. Many of my photos aim to discuss the relationship between nature and humanity, such as the series of drone photography I created titled From Above, which intends to invoke reflections on the impact of urbanization. Another topic that I aim to discuss with my images is feminism and many of society's constraints on women. I created a series called "The Pink Haired Girl" on this subject, which you can view on the first page in "Gallery."
The camera can see what I have forgotten is how I always characterize the significance of photography. It not only means that I recall a blurred memory when looking at an image taken long ago, but it also means that photography helps me find back that pair of eyes that can see the beauty in everything.
